A straightforward, rustic, coarse Pomerol, the 2010 Plince exhibits a deep plum/ruby color and good fruit on the attack, but the wine's rustic character is problematic. It should drink well for 10+ years.
Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. The Plince '10 is slightly deeper in colour than other Pomerol crus, the nose commensurately a little more opulent with ripe blackberry, raspberry, date and a touch of cherry. Quite modern in style but still well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins on the entry, fine depth, quite sensual in style but just lacking a little backbone towards the finish. Fine. Tasted April 2011.
Dark purplish crimson. Rich and quite exotically perfumed. Intense. But very firm on the finish. Marked tannins. Is there quite enough fruit in the middle here? Pretty astringent finish for the moment.
