Tasting Notes

Fabulous nose of ripe fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. Full body, with velvety tannins and a fresh finish. Polished and poised texture. Intense finish. Best ever from here. Better in 2016.

A major sleeper of the vintage from proprietor Bernard Magrez, this consistently well-made cru bourgeois from the Medoc displays loads of sweet black currant and cherry fruit as well as hints of licorice, roasted herbs and underbrush. A blend of 63% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, the wine is medium-bodied, delicious, round, seductive and ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (205), March 2013

A blend of 60% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, this has a ripe, rounded, velvety smooth bouquet that has slightly better delineation than the Clementin du Pape Clement tasted alongside. The palate is full-bodied with dense tannins but good acidity. Tightly coiled but well defined towards the finish. Outstanding! Tasted April 2011.

Bernard Magrez property. Very dark purple. Sweet nose, 'conditioned' palate, and green on the finish. Not comfortable. Thick and a little raw, without real fruit density. Drying finish.

Crushed blackcurrant fruit, ripeness and depth, quite forward style. Drink 2013-16.

A solid core of currants and coffee, with hints of new wood. Full and velvety, with a lovely texture and medium finish. Better than 2009.
