Tasting Notes

Tasted blind at Farr's 2002 Bordeaux tasting. This has an intriguing bouquet (even more so, once I discovered its identity.) The nose is more Rhône-like than Bordeaux, with notes of Provencal herbs, fennel and thyme. The palate is full-bodied, a little sullen on the entry with a stout, much more Bordeaux-like personality than the nose (which may be a one-off.) Tobacco-laced blackberry and cedar-wood, finely balanced towards the finish. Moderate length. Fine. Tasted October 2009.

Drink 2009-18 Sweet and round and easy - good balance. Not the most intense. A little bit tarty next to Lynch Bages and Grand Puy Lacoste.
