Tasting Notes

Typically stern, masculine, firm, and almost completely closed, this dark plum-colored, medium-bodied Pauillac offers hints of earth as well as black currant fruit in a virile, monolithic format. It possesses good weight and depth, and aging may bring forth more character and charm. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2014.

Mid crimson. A bit grey. Light and fragrant – well balanced. Easy to overlook. All fine in the lights of a 2001. Well balanced.

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, October 2007

This traditionally-made, tannic, austere, somewhat angular wine exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, elegant red currant and cassis flavors, and loamy soil notes. Medium-bodied, firm, and austere, it will be at its finest between 2007-2015.

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (146), April 2003

Spicy, cedar and evolved aromatics are accompanied by an opaque ruby/purple-colored, medium-bodied Pauillac revealing moderate tannin as well as good purity, but not much excitement. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016.
