Griotte Chambertin, Domaine Claude Dugat 1999

Tasting Notes

In contrast to the magnum version of this wine (see herein), this is an exceptional wine in every respect with an explosively ripe and seductive nose of fantastically complex black cherries and spice notes that are followed by rich, lush and opulent full-bodied flavors that possess monumental amounts of extract that coats and stains the palate, all wrapped in a velvety and incredibly long finish. This is really most impressive and while it?s not clear that it?s a candidate for really long-term aging, it is already so approachable that it could be drunk now with pleasure or aged for at least another decade. In short, this is absolutely terrific juice.
