Tasting Notes

Dark ruby/purple, with notes of black raspberries, damp earth, minerals, plums, and a hint of mushrooms, this is a strong effort from Le Gay. It displays medium body, moderate tannin, and none of the rusticity that recent vintages have often possessed. Nevertheless, patience will be required. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017.

Robert Parker, RobertParker.com (153), June 2004

Beautiful aromas of blackberries, licorice, violets and berries. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a gorgeous finish. Very serious for the vintage. This is as good as, if not better than, the outstanding 2000. Le Gay is back. Best after 2008.
