Tasting Notes

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003

A tannic, dense, concentrated wine with plenty of extract, as well as an intriguing mineral, blackberry, earth, truffle, and vanillin-scented nose, this medium-bodied wine is crammed with ripe fruit and tannin. It is not unfair to consider this wine as a down-sized version of the great Ausone. The wine is more forthcoming than a young vintage of Ausone, but still high-toned and tightly wound. This wine possesses outstanding purity and concentration, and if the tannin becomes better integrated, it is a sure bet for a 90+ rating after bottling. Anticipated maturity : 2003-2020.
