No tasting notes given.
Tasted at the property, the 2007 Barde-Haut has a pleasant, clean, mulberry and raspberry preserve-scented bouquet, not complex but charming. The palate is medium-bodied with light grainy tannin. This has moved into its secondary phase with morels and black truffle showing strongly in the second half. There is just a slight dryness on the finish, which is no surprise given this is a ten-year-old 2007, but it should continue to give drinking pleasure for another four or five years. Tasted March 2017.
Blackberry and dark chocolate aromas and flavors. Medium body, fine tannins and a light finish
Very dark crimson. Sweet, opulent very ‘modern’ nose. Raw meat, very soft tannins. Really doing everything to seduce the drinker – almost a mini Cheval Blanc! It’s not classical but it does the business. Just a little tarry on the finish. Drink 2011-2018
Good ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry, minerals, violet and mint. Suave on entry, then fresh and alive in the middle palate, with noteworthy intensity to the black cherry and licorice flavors. From fruit picked between October 10 and 17-including the merlot-according to Helene Garcin. Finishes subtle, ripe and long, with supple tannins and lively notes of black fruit and minerals. This is very promising.
A deep purple hue. A simple but ripe plum and briary scented nose with a touch of tar (NB a second sample had more brightness and fruit intensity.) The palate is full-bodied with perky ripe black fruits, good acidity, very disjointed at the moment but certainly with the balls (sorry Helene) to make a decent burly Saint Emilion after bottling. Good grip, a little furry on the finish on the first bottle, the second sharper and with great precision. This may warrant a higher score after bottling…a dark horse. Tasted April 2008
