Chevalier Montrachet, Domaine Leflaive 2000

Tasting Notes

Perhaps one of the finest bottles tasted, the 2000 Chevalier Montrachet from Anne-Claude has a succinct, razor-sharp bouquet of wet limestone, lemon thyme, linden and chalk that is a thrill from start to finish. The palate displays wonderful balance: such poise and sophistication here, the precision giving way to surprising fatness on the mid-palate and a subtle honeyed tincture towards the consummate finish. This is drinking absolutely perfectly now, but it will continue giving pleasure over the next decade. Drink 2014-2026

The aromatically intense 2000 Chevalier-Montrachet boasts toasted mineral scents. This medium-bodied wine is vinous, deep, and packed with floral, mineral flavors. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2013.
