Montrachet, Olivier Leflaive 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Montrachet Grand Cru has a precise, crystalline, mineral-driven bouquet with wonderful focus and class. The oak here is seamlessly integrated. The palate is very well balanced with a perfect bead of acidity, harmonious and poised, and regal and serene toward the finish. This is a wine that shows the 237 other white 2015 Burgundies tasted blind during the week who is the king. Awesome. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (DIAM 10 closure) (Drink between 2022-2045)

Palish colour. At least at first this is clearly the oakiest of the four, but as with the others there is a nobility of fruit behind. The fruit and the nicely judged acidity keep the oak in balance, and the wine harmonised beautifully with aeration. There is amazing weight and persistence, this is a very fine bottle of Montrachet. DIAM 10.
