A magnificent wine produced from first pressings of their highest altitude, stoniest parcels, this cuvée reveals a profound bouquet of citrus confit, crushed stones and white flowers, with subtle top-notes of melon, wheat toast and crème pâtissière. On the palate the wine is amazingly intense and pure, marrying tongue-tingling minerality with striking volume and amplitude which persists through the long finish.
Drinking Window 2018 - 2040
175 cases were made of this superb Pouilly Fuissé, which uses just the light, first pressings of Jean-Marie Guffens' top vineyards. Red apple, cream, tarte tatin, sweet vanilla, smoke and peach on the nose - this is rich, infinitely complex and melding sweet and savoury. The palate is concentrated, rich, powerful and yet fresh, lively and balanced. Juisy pineapple and peach are met by mineral struck flint, smoke and fresh acidity. Long and fresh for the vintage, this powerhouse is a triumph and comfortably one of the best 2015 white Burgundies we have tried, for a fraction of the price you would pay in the Cote de Beaune.
