Whisky

Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the product of one specific distillery. Each region has its own particular distinctive style and it is usually possible to distinguish in which region of Scotland a particular whisky was made. Scottish regulations require single malts to be distilled in pot stills and, by law, all whisky must be aged for a minimum of three years in oak casks, though many single malts are matured for much longer. In recent years there has been a renaissance in malt whisky and avid collectors seek out the oldest and rarest whiskies in the market.

Great whisky is not just limited to Scotch - there are many fantastic whiskies made outside the British Isles. As a result, we have a handful of the best from the rest of the world, including the much lauded Japanese whiskies. For Bourbon and other U.S. Whiskies, please see our separate sections.
