As usual, the 2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos is exclusively produced for ventealapropriete.com, so only readers in France will be able to enjoy this medium-bodied, pure and elegantly textural wine redolent of pear, apple blossom and freshly baked bread.
Note : In 2022, for the first time, this wines was also available for the export market via Farr Vintners.
This is a "village" wine from Pierreclos made from low-yielding vines that are more than 50 years old. Made from first pressings only and matured in foudres for 8 months before bottling in June 2023. The nose is youthful and fruit focused, with citrus peel and poached pear to the fore. The palate shows impressive depth, the lees adding textural intrigue against a zippy, zesty fruit core. There is a hint of good reduction here, just a touch of struck match that adds complexity to the fruit. An approachable, moreish wine best enjoyed in its youth.
