The 2020 Côte de Nuits-Villages wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis and dark berries, framed by a deft touch of spicy oak. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's deep and sapid, with tangy acids and a long, penetrating finish. As I've written before, if there's a sleeper in the portfolio of this sought-after domaine, this cuvée—from the lieu-dit Queue de Hareng in Brochon—is it.
Rich dark colour with purple rim. The nose is ripely exuberant. Lots of power very intense dark strawberry, good fresh acidity behind, a sweetness of fruit and then a firm structure behind. Rather longer finish. Worth the upgrade over the Bourgogne this year.
