**Note: this consists of two well-separated parcels totaling .29 ha, mostly from Clos de Bèze with .24 ha and the remaining .05 ha in Chambertin proper; when both are blended in this fashion, the declared appellation must be Chambertin**
A restrained to the point of almost being mute nose reluctantly offers up ultra-cool, distinguished and fresh aromas of spice, underbrush, earth and a hint of game. The big-bodied, textured and almost painfully intense mineral-driven flavors ooze with dry extract that buffers completely the extremely firm tannins and allows the brilliantly long finish to remain impeccably well-balanced. A wine of class and poise that delivers its power without weight. This doesn't quite have the sheer depth of the RSV or the Bonnes Mares though the underlying material is present to perhaps allow it to develop. We'll see in time but for now I prefer to remain conservative while noting the potential material is at least present.
