Clos de Vougeot, Domaine Berthaut 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a complex, nuanced bouquet of attractive red cherry, black olive paste, oyster shell and light undergrowth aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and quite toasty in style, although the wood seems synchronized with the fruit. Blood orange and brown spice notes leave the tongue tingling after it has departed. Good potential, but it needs time. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
