Here the wood and menthol are no longer subtle on the liqueur-like aromas of red cherry, floral and spiced tea. The middleweight flavors possess a gorgeous mouthfeel that is lilting and vibrant while display excellent depth and persistence on the compact, serious and built-to-age finale. This is excellent and an unusually ripe 2021.
Aromas of sweet raspberries, cherries, licorice and spices preface the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless wine with good concentration and an elegant, complete profile. Along with the Cras, it's Jadot's finest Beaune cuvée this year.
Bright mid crimson. There is additional density here on the palate, noticeable in the front of the mouth but continuing through to the well-integrated tannins behind. The bouquet will need to follow in due course, which it will to confirm another fine Clos des Ursules. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: October 2022
