This is perhaps the spiciest wine in the range though the surrounding red berry fruit and floral scents are relatively reticent if not invisible. There is a surprisingly supple mouth feel to the mid-palate of the broad-shouldered middle weight plus flavors that tighten up quickly on the punchy and powerful finish that delivers very fine if not truly stunning length. Like the Clos de Vougeot this will definitely need at least 6 to 8 years of bottle age to be approachable and reward 12 to 15.
