**Note: from an impressive 1.2 ha parcel**
There is a touch of crushed leaf character present though it's not so much as to materially detract from the overall sense of purity of the red and dark berry fruit aromas that also offer up notes of earth, humus, underbrush and game. I very much like the textured mouth feel of the intensely mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess fine power and punch on the robust, muscular and moderately austere finish. This impressively complex effort will require at least 6 to 8 years of patience.
This is the first wine to show any appreciable wood influence though it's not so much as to detract from the overall sense of purity of the red and dark berry fruit aromas that also offer up notes of earth, humus, underbrush and game. I very much like the textured mouth feel of the intensely mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess fine power and punch on the robust, muscular and moderately austere finish. While the quality is comparable to that of the Champeaux and Estournelles St. Jacques, there is just a bit more overall depth here. Note that patience will be required.
