The 2024 Château Latour releases

Today sees the new releases from Château Latour: the 2017 Grand Vin, 2018 Forts de Latour and 2019 Pauillac de Latour. No longer offered en primeur, this is the first time that these wines have been available to buy.

2017 Château Latour is "utterly compelling" according to Neal Martin, who gives it 97 points. A chiselled and layered effort, it will improve slowly in bottle over the next two decades and have a long, gracious drinking window. This is a wine for people who like their wines to focus on harmony and precision rather than power and high alcohol. 99 points from James Suckling, 98 from Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW and universally praised by the critics - it transcends the vintage.

2018 Forts de Latour is a real powerhouse, closer to second growth than second wine. A series of high scores include a 95 point score from Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW and a 93-95 barrel score from Neal Martin, who says "it’s a Les Forts de Latour you won’t forget".

2019 Pauillac de Latour is a superb wine and offers the first insight into Latour's stellar efforts in this great vintage. Combining the property's power with the year's succulence, it is ready to drink but has decades ahead. Neal Martin gives it 92 points on vinous.com, saying it is "difficult to believe this is in fact the third wine!"
