2022 Jadot

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a fine and consistent Burgundy vintage on our hands!” – Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Jasper Morris MW has started to publish his reviews of the 2022 Burgundies on insideburgundy.com.  He describes 2022 as "amazingly consistent " and “an extremely fine vintage”.  Moreover, his views on the Jadot wines are very positive, with some compelling notes and impressive scores.

The 2022 vintage was one of the hottest and driest ever seen in Burgundy and, as witnessed in Bordeaux in the same year, the vines more than coped with weather that is becoming the norm rather than the exception. It is clear that vines in Europe are adapting to the change in climate, and one might argue that we are seeing a fundamental shift (upwards) in quality.  Winemaking has never been better; nature is currently playing ball.

At Louis Jadot they are very pleased with the wines.  The whites are ripe though not overblown; the reds are deeply coloured though not as “inky” as 2018 and 2020. There is a density of ripe fruit, with silky tannins and a modest, soft acidity. After a very difficult year in 2021, 2022 is a vintage where quality is very good and quantities are bountiful after a series of short crops.
