A markedly floral-suffused nose speaks mainly of various ripe white orchard fruit, hazelnut and lemon zest. There is both better volume and richness to the beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle bead of minerality on the seriously persistent if youthfully austere finale. While this too could use a bit more depth, this wine has a superb track record for aging out well.
Still in barrel, unracked. Pale colour, little or no nose. Racy and generous with weight of fruit behind, more body than Chalumeaux but less finesse, show the oak a touch even without any new barrel. Solid rather than flamboyant. Tasted: 10/1/2021
